Children’s Birthday Parties
Howick Historical Village is a magical setting for a birthday party!
Kids enjoy learning what life was like in the past and exploring the houses, buildings and streets, set in beautiful gardens with lawns and picnic tables, outdoor games, friendly chickens and lots of photo opportunities!
For your party, you are welcome to decorate, to plan games and activities (e.g treasure hunt) and to book entertainment or performers. We can provide recommendations if required as well as advice. Just keep us in the loop on your plans and we help make it happen!

Additional activities
Additional activities can be booked in advance. These are private sessions with a costumed guide. All materials are included.
Butter making: 45 mins, $50 (max. 20 participants)
Candle making: 30 mins, $50 (max. 14 participants)
Rag rugs, other fabric-based crafts or lavender sachets: 45 mins - $50 (max. 20 participants)
Victorian school lesson: 30 mins, $50 (subject to availability. Not available on Saturdays. Max. 25 participants)
De Quincy’s Cottage
De Quincy’s Cottage can be hired as a base for the party, and for serving refreshments.
$200+GST to hire De Quincy’s Cottage.
Paid in advance to secure the booking.
Full day hire (10am-4pm).
Set up can start from 9:30am.
$50 refundable bond required.
Guests
There is no charge for the birthday child and x2 supervising adults.
You can pay on the day for the number of guests you have at our reduced group entry prices.

Conditions
Not suitable for children under age 5. Recommended age 7+.
Supervision is the parents’ responsibility. Enough supervision must be provided at all times. Recommend ratio 1 adult: 5 children.
Any booked entertainment must be approved. Please discuss with us first!
Please note that the Village will be open to the public during your party and the self-guided crafts and outdoor games are used by everyone.
