Terms and Conditions of Entry

Entry into the Howick Historical Village is subject to the following conditions and visitors may be asked to leave if these conditions are breached.

Special events, venue hire and filming are subject to additional terms and conditions which will be specified on your ticket or hire agreement.

  • Visitors enter the Village at their own risk and choose to do so under these conditions. No liability for loss, injury or damage will be accepted by the Howick and Districts Historical Society inc, its staff, volunteers or members.

  • Howick Historical Village reserves the right to change price, activities, displays and times without notice. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather, maintenance or construction work, or exhibits closed.

  • Visitors must not enter any area marked ‘no entry’ or cross any barrier unless accompanied by a museum staff member.

  • Visitors will be required to leave the Village if they engage in conduct which unreasonably interferes with the enjoyment of others and/or hamper or impede the conduct of Village activities.

  • Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

  • Visitors must not bring into the Village any article which is likely to injure or disturb other persons, including chemical substances, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances or weapons.

  • Visitors must not touch, disturb or interfere with any animal (including free range birds).

  • Visitors must not throw any object; climb on (unless indicated), damage or deface any structure or signage; light any fire; or litter.

  • No dogs are permitted on Village grounds (except fully vaccinated guide dogs).

  • Photography and video is permitted for personal use only. Commercial use must be negotiated prior to shooting and with permission from museum staff. No photography or filming of children is allowed without permission.

  • In case of emergency, please follow instructions of staff and vacate the premises by the nearest gate. Emergency assembly area is in the carpark outside the cafe and main entrance.

  • Smoking/vaping/e-cigarette is not permitted in the grounds. Visitors who do not comply will be asked to leave or may be removed.
