Bus Support
Bus support for schools
Education has been an important part of our mission statement for 45 years. With one of the longest running museum education programmes in Auckland, we take great pride in connecting, supporting, and uplifting students and teachers. Since 2019, we have seen consistent increases in the number of students visiting, welcoming around 5,000 students each year.
To help lower the costs of transportation for school visits to the Howick Historical Village (the Village), we are grateful to have the generous backing of the Tom Brydon Trust and the Freemasons Trust.
With their support, we can provide 20 schools with a reimbursement of $200 (+gst) towards bus transportation costs to the Village.
Schools for which additional financial support may be required, please contact the Education Manager on education@historiclvillage.org.nz to discuss supplemental funding opportunities. Please note that these funds are limited and require additional financial and demographic information to secure.
Our Education Department believes that helping relieve the burden of the cost of transportation will make our programming accessible for all students, and teachers, especially for marginalized communities.
We are grateful to the Tom Brydon Trust and the Freemasons Trust for their incredible generosity in supporting our mission.
To be eligible for this offer, schools must bring at least 60 students per trip, participate in a full day or half day educational programme, and have an EQI of more than 415 or be a Decile 1-5 school. Schools that are higher deciles or have a lower EQI number, but are providing a school trip for refugee students, are also eligible.

Offer ends on June 30th 2025.
